The Team

President - Norris Luce

Mr. Luce is a mechanical engineer with a degree from Kansas State University. He is a co-owner of MACRO Industries, Inc. as well as a Manager of both MACRO Analysis, L.L.C. and MACRO Valve, L.L.C. Mr. Luce has fifteen years experience with developing and maintaining a proprietary version of NASTRAN. He was the first person to successfully port NASTRAN to the PC. He has given numerous short courses on the use and management of finite element technology. Additionally, Mr. Luce has fifteen years experience with design, analysis, and manufacturing of commercial, military, and NASA programs. Prior to forming MACRO Industries, Inc., Mr. Luce worked for the Boeing Company on the Space Station primary modules in the areas of conceptualization, design, analysis, and manufacturing.

 

Vice President - Marcia Elkins   

Marcia Elkins has a BS/BA from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is a co-owner of MACRO Industries, Inc. as well as a Manager of both MACRO Analysis, L.L.C. and MACRO Valve, L.L.C. She has approximately 15 years experience in the areas of contracts and subcontracts and is responsible for all of the administrative and financial duties associated with running the company.

Ms. Elkins is a charter member of the Women’s Economic Development Council and is on the Women’s Business Council with the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce.

 

Program Manager - David Atchison

Mr. Atchison has 20 years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, and analysis applications. He was employed as a technical coordinator for the State of Alabama from 1984 to 1992 and provided advanced solid modeling training to Space Station engineers and designers. While with the State of Alabama, Mr. Atchison was involved with many disciplines related to advanced technology including finite element analysis, rapid prototyping with stereolithography, manufacturing methods, and most notably, mechanical design applications. He was also employed with Intergraph Corporation from 1992 to 1999 and gained experience in many phases of the software development life cycle including the development of initial design specifications, software development and maintenance, training course development, customer training, and customer support services. Mr. Atchison is currently utilizing advanced solid modeling packages including CAD/CAM/CAE. He is also involved in making prototype parts for the various projects in which he is involved. Mr. Atchison manages MACRO’s engineering services contracts and is the primary designer in the RCV and SkyRider projects.
